Description
The Rvein™ restrainer is designed to facilitate rat tail vein injections with a sliding head mount instead of a nose cone. Unlike traditional nose cone restrainers, the head mount allows natural movement of the animal’s head while eliminating the risk of asphyxiation — a common concern during prolonged procedures.
The Rvein™ is the companion product to the Mvein™, scaled specifically for laboratory rats from 250 to 450 g. It supports loading head-first or tail-first, which prevents pulling on the rat’s tail and simplifies the workflow for the technician. The rectangular profile is particularly well suited for rats with flank tumors, making it a practical choice for xenograft studies.
Once the animal is loaded, the restrainer can be rotated 90 degrees to position the lateral tail vein at the top for injection. The sliding head mount adjusts across the full weight range without adapters or inserts. The Rvein™ is also suitable for blood sampling and blood pressure monitoring.
