The centrepiece of the Bright lineup for preclinical work is the 9400 Whole Small Animal Cryostat, a patented instrument specifically engineered for whole-body frozen sectioning of small animals. It is the only instrument of its kind protected under Global Patent GB1803310.0.

The 9400 produces high-quality, reproducible whole-body frozen sections of mice, rats, guinea pigs, and rabbits. With sections as thin as 1 µm and a specimen window accommodating animals up to 400 mm long, it delivers the anatomical fidelity and molecular integrity that autoradiography, toxicology, and biodistribution studies demand. A dual compressor refrigeration system maintains chamber temperature down to -35°C, while a touchscreen interface and programmable batch slicing modes keep the workflow efficient even at high throughput.
